MFA’s Network series, launched in January 1995, is the alternative investment industry’s premier networking conference and exposition. Network, which is presented at a luxury resort in Florida, features a substantial educational agenda, ample networking events and concurrent business meeting lounges reserved for managers to meet with investors (which are extremely popular). In addition, there is a large exhibition hall presenting products that help investment advisers optimize management and operational efficiencies. There is an annual tennis invitational and clinic and golf tournament. The Network program agenda focuses on investor needs, including presentations on investment styles and strategies as well as best practices in asset allocation, manager selection, due diligence and risk management. Delegates include a mix of CTAs and hedge funds (approximately 65/35), with an increasing number of hedge funds attending over recent years, making this a truly industry-wide conference and distinguishing Network from both Forum (largely CTAs) and Outlook (largely hedge funds).
